Remarks:

All “physical” participants really enjoyed very much to meet again in-person after so many months of COVID restrictions.
While attendance on Day 1 seemed adequate, in Day 2  we had 30 participants physically and 30 participants via ZOOM, in Day 3 we had 30 participants physically and 75 participants via ZOOM (the EU-Japan-Korean session was of interest to many colleagues from abroad).
The presentations were excelent in general and the organizers cared a lot for plenary discussions in a lively atmosphere throughout all 3 days (and the location “BAO Center” provided very good opportunities for individual contacts as well as group discussions during breaks and evening live concerts  as is tradition in these CERIS meetings).

My recommendation is to attend such meetings (physical or remote), a follow-up event of the same title and similar session structure is planned for 14-16 September 2022 (RISK_List members will be informed when registration becomes available).
The “State-of-Play” event gave inspiring details for technical innovation, questions of broad “in-the-fields” uptake, implementation, gaps and governance needed on our way to substantially reduce victims and damage in the inevitable future disasters on local, regional, national and european level.
