UN Global Risk Report 2026

Large-scale war has moved from a distant danger to one of the world’s most immediate threats, according to  the UN’s 2026 Global Risk Report

The report surveyed 1,300 respondents from governments, civil society, business, international organisations, and expert communities, and reflects perceptions, not predictions.

It also reflects biases – half the survey’s respondents were from Europe and North America.

More than a third of those surveyed believe large-scale war will have a major global impact within a year, and three-quarters within seven years.
